Following a routine victory over German Tom Schwarz in 2019, a towering Tyson Fury grabbed a microphone during a post-match interview and boomed out a rendition of Aerosmith’s Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing.

The passable cover of the American band’s smash hit was aimed at wife Paris Fury.

Married to the former heavyweight champion for 12 years, she can often be seen cheering her husband on from ringside, and now Doncaster-born Paris has opened up about her life with Tyson in an interview on This Morning and during ITV documentary Gypsy King.

Doncaster born and bred

Paris Fury, was born and bred in Doncaster to an Irish traveller family.

In the past Paris has spoken about her traveller upbringing, describing it as old-fashioned.

In an interview with the Irish Mirror, she said: "I am a Traveller, I am a gypsy. I was brought up in caravans when I was a little girl.

"It's just the traditional lifestyle; there's no real definition, there's no bloodline because we never went to the doctor to say we are who we are.

"There was no paperwork, there are still gypsies today who can't read or write; we're just that old fashioned."

Then Paris Mulroy, she first met Tyson Fury when she was aged 15 at a wedding of family friends. The pair quickly bonded and began dating after Paris’ 16th birthday party.

Speaking about the early stages of her relationship with Tyson, she said: "He was my first boyfriend as I was not allowed a boyfriend until the age of 16. He is the only boyfriend I have had.

“Tyson would train in boxing during the week and then come and see me at the weekend. I would always be so excited at the thought of seeing him.”

Married in Doncaster

The duo got married in Doncaster in 2008, three years into their relationship, tying the knot at Chains Catholic Church on Chequer Road.

The wedding was attended by 400 guests, with a reception taking place at reception at The Stables in High Melton.

The pair have five children: Venzuela, Prince John James, Prince Tyson Fury II, Valencia Amber and Prince Adonis Amaziah.

On watching Tyson Fury fight

On February 11, 2020, Paris Fury appeared on This Morning with Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield and opened up about the difficulties of watching her husband fight.

She said: It’s very difficult. I remember years ago, women used to say to me, ‘Smile, you’re on camera, you’re on camera’.

“I was like, ‘No. The person I love is getting punched in the ring. I’m not smiling.

“It’s very hard... You just have to accept it because it’s something he wanted to do. But as you’re watching, I take every punch he takes. I’m cringing on the inside, literally.

“It’s hard and it’s getting harder because every fight is a harder fight so obviously, it’s a harder level.

When is Tyson Fury: Gypsy King on?

Paris Fury appears on Gypsy King which starts on ITV tonight at 9pm.

The documentary will run for three episodes in the lead up to Tyson Fury’s bout with Deontay Wilder on February 22.
