The curtain was brought down in Nortel’s best season in years at the club’s annual presentation dinner.
In their third season back in the Amateur League’s top-flight, Nortel finished fifth in the Premier Division – and they were very much in with a shout for the title up until the very last week of the campaign.
The awards were presented by club treasurer, Jim Shaw, president of the Irish Football Association.
George McKane Cup for the Second Team Players’ Player of the Year: Mark McKay.
Jim Hooks Cup for Second Team Manager’s Player of the Year: Stuart Crawford.
Paul Malone Cup for Second Team Leading Goalscorer: Thomas Hamill.
Laurence Scott Cup for First Team Leading Goalscorer: Simon Craig
Gary Gourley Memorial Cup for Players’ Player of the Year: Simon Craig.
Freddie Cole Memorial Cup for Manager’s Player of the Year: Ryan Cardwell.
Slemish Cup for the Supporters’ Player of the Year: Owen Thompson
Brian Smyth Memorial Cup for Clubman of the Year: Lee McCartney
There was also a special award to mark Timmy Clarke’s selection into the Northern Amateur League Representative squad.
