Manchester United defender Paddy McNair has been named in the Northern Ireland squad for next week’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Romania.

It’s the 19-year-old’s first call-up to the senior international panel and it comes a little over a month since he made his Premier League debut.

The teenager will travel to Bucharest aiming to help Michael O’Neill’s men build on their flying start to the campaign.

He is joined in the 25-man panel by fellow Newtownabbey natives Craig Cathcart (Watford FC) and Corry Evans (Blackburn Rovers).

Northern Ireland’s game with Romania takes place on Friday, November 14 (7:45pm kick-off).
