Galacticos prove too strong for Cowboys

Carrick and District Pool League: Defending champions Galacticos travelled to Hugh McMurtry’s Cowboys for a rehearsal of their forthcoming Knockout Cup final. League leaders the Swift trailed 4-0 to Whitehead Spartans but Paul Roberts’ men then ran out the next five frames to take the lead. With both teams matching each other frame for frame, Spartans manager Robert Hawkins took the last to secure a share of the spoils.

Doagh Weapons were edged out at home by Scorpions on an 8-6 scoreline. The first half was a tight affair with the visitors taking a slim 4-3 lead at the break. In the second session Tyler McConnell’s lads took the first to level but the Scorpions lads won the next four to secure the points.
