Seven club members were in action at Woodburn in the first race of the popular Trail Series, hosted by East Antrim Harriers.
Graeme O’Hara was first home for the club in a superb 21:37, followed quickly by on-form Natasha Henderson in 21:59 (2 FO). Other times: Ruth Morrison (24:58), Claire Oliphant (25:09), Erin Montgomery (25:39), Rachel Lloyd (26:01) and Jane Kinnear (27:37).
The club was delighted to celebrate the graduation of its first Couch to 5k participants on Wednesday evening. Over the nine-week course, the graduates’ determination was rewarded, with all progressing from being non-runners to being able to run 5k. The club looks forward to supporting many of these new runners on their continuing running journey on club nights and also wishes them the very best for their first race at the May Fair 5k (May 28).
At Saturday’s Antrim parkrun Natasha Henderson was first female, while Dean McBride, Helen Baird, and Lynette McBride who achieved PBs.
Further afield on Saturday, distance enthusiast Louise Smart took part in the Dunkeries Trail Ultra, in Nottinghamshire. The 40-mile looped course, started and finished in the heart of Sherwood Forest. Louise produced a solid performance and enjoyed the experience.
