Ballyclare High School missed out on a place in the Senior Schools’ Cup final, losing 3-0 to Lurgan College in Wednesday’s semi-final.
The Lurgan girls set the tone with just five minutes on the clock when Julie Morrow pounced on a loose ball to net the opener.
Ballyclare were on the back foot as Lurgan kept the pressure on and it paid off when Kathryn Edgar rounded a defender and fired home her side’s second of the afternoon.
The High School, winners of the competition in 2012, upped the tempo after the interval but they couldn’t find a way through.
And it was all over as a contest when Samantha Bann put the gloss on a strong performance with a reverse-stick shot which hit found the net.
Lurgan substitute Serena Hamilton then smashed home from close range, but the umpire ruled her effort out.
Rainey Endowed await Lurgan in the final on March 5.
