Richard is returned as Templepatrick captain

FOLLOWING his side’s promotion success to NCU Section One this season, Richard Greer will continue to lead Templepatrick Cricket Club First XI in 2013.

The Ballyclare man, who also led his team to the league title in 2011, was re-elected First XI captain at the club’s annual general meeting on Thursday, October 25.

David McWilliams, who steered the Second XI to promotion this summer in his first full season as skipper, was also re-elected unopposed. The club is yet to appoint a Third XI captain for next year.

Following the presentation of reports from the chairman and treasurer, the following were elected for the coming year: President - Arthur Bowron; Chairman - Duncan Elder; Treasurer - Andy McCrea; Secretary - Ross Bryans; Cricket Development Officer - Andy McCrea; Sub-committee Convenors: Facilities - James Jackson; Finance - Jay Hunter; Marketing - Peter Shepherd; Under 18 - Jordi Fettis; Social - Phil Kernaghan and David McWilliams; Cricket - Artie Campbell; Public Relations - Duncan Elder.

During the meeting, members congratulated long-serving president Arthur Bowron on winning the NCU’s Jim McMorran Award for voluntary services to cricket, and also thanked former Third XI captain and club secretary Peter Shepherd for his hard work and dedication over the years.
