The scoreline doesn’t suggest it, but it was a close match with Wallace taking the lead by a point (12-13) at one stage. Ballyclare High scored a converted try to take the lead before scoring again at the death to win 26-13.

The team, coached by Mr Lenaghan and under the guidance of Director of Rugby Mike Orchin-McKeever will now prepare the final which has a suggested date of March 16. Another special thanks must got to Mr Bell and Gary Clotworthy for their input over the season and to sponsor TDK Property.

Thirteen of the 3rd XV 23-player squad had been fortunate to be part of last summer’s tour to New Zealand and Australia.

The school’s 2nd XV also made the final of the 2nd XV Cup, which is set to take place on Wednesday. The squad boasts a lot of experience with 17 out of the 23 featuring for the 1st XV this season.
