Ballyclare Rugby Club are on the hunt for a new Head Coach after Bob Young made the switch to Queen’s.
Young steered the Cloughan men to the Qualifying League 2 title last season. He also led them to the Junior Cup final at Ravenhill where they lost to Ballynahinch II.
Queen’s revealed Young’s appointment on Twitter on Friday (June 6). “The club are delighted to announce that Bob Young will be the new 1st XV Head Coach,” the tweet read.
Young’s arrival from Ballymena for the 2010-11 season marked an upturn in fortunes for Ballyclare.
In each of his four seasons at the helm Ballyclare were in the promotion mix. In 2011 they were pipped at the post by Donaghadee, and the following year they lost out again to UUC. In 2013 they pushed Bangor all the way before deservedly being crowned champions last term.
