Weightlifting: Silver medal for GoLift’s Stewart

GoLift Weightlifting Club could not have been more proud of their coach and president, Peter Stewart, at Saturday’s European Masters Weightlifting Championship.

Up against tough opposition in Bangor, he notched a personal best in the snatch with 118kg (M35 85kg).

As if that wasn’t enough, he claimed another ‘PB’ of 150kg in the clean and jerk. But his total of 268kg, which was also a competition personal best, saw him narrowly miss out on gold. Instead, he came home with a very well-deserved European silver medal.
