Participation in the Ulster-Scotch Leid Week 2020 has been approved by the council’s Community Planning Committee which will involve the use of  content developed from in-house resources and will comply with current restrictions over Covid-19 in relation to services and gatherings.

DUP Councillor Stephen Ross  proposed that participation be approved and asked for a breakdown of last year’s events.

His proposal was seconded by SDLP Cllr Ryan Wilson.

Glengormley Sinn Fein Cllr Michael Goodman said that he was happy to see the proposal coming before the council getting support.

He went on to say that he looks forward to similar support for a Teach naGaelige language event when it is due in March next year.
