Success for Ballyclare band juniors

Ballyclare Victoria Flute Band is celebrating success of young members in recent competitions.

The band won third prize in the championship section of Flute Band Association’s Annual Own Choice contest at the Island Arts Centre, in Lisburn,

Junior members Georgia Boyd, Corran Crawford and Emma Blacoe enjoyed success at the Flute Band Association’s Annual Solo And Small Ensemble Competition held at Strean Presbyterian Church Hall, Newtownards, on Saturday April 25.

Competitors from Ballyclare, Belfast, Newry, Newtownards, Saintfield, Ballynahinch, Ballygowan and Ballywalter took part in the various solo and ensemble sections.

The competition was adjudicated by Gillian McCutcheon who commented on the very high standard of all the competitors.

In the Under 10 Concert Flute Solo Section, which had ten competitors, Georgia Boyd won second prize.

In the Under 13 Concert Flute Solo Section, Corran Crawford and Emma Blacoe won second and fourth prizes respectively.
