Countryside walks at Leslie Hill Estate – Tuesday 1 June 2010

BALLYMONEY Borough Council in association with the Bank of Ireland is pleased to announce the first of this season's annual summer walks. Home to the Leslie Family for ten generations, Leslie Hill Estate is a beautiful wooded demesne in the heart of Ballymoney. This ever-popular walk affords the opportunity to view an open farm setting at first hand and enjoy the tranquil lake and gardens. This circular walk starts and finishes in Townhead Street Car Park, Ballymoney.

James Leslie, owner of the estate, will lead a guided walk around the grounds giving participants an opportunity to find out more about this lovely area, its history and development into the successful tourist attraction it has now become.

The evening will conclude with refreshments served in the Open Farm’s tearoom after which walkers will return to Ballymoney on foot. Numbers are limited to 80 persons by pre-booked ticket on a first come basis. Tickets costing 3 per person, are available by telephoning 028 2766 0227 or by calling in person to Riada House, 14 Charles Street, Ballymoney.
