Fleadh is next week

THE 19th Tony Lavery Fleadh will take place next week throughout the Lurgan area.

The event, which goes from strength to strength each year and attracts visitors from far and wide, is sponsored by The Corner House Bar, Derrymacash and takes place between Thursday, September 16 and Sunday, September 19.

Supporting bars include The Corner House, JP's, St Paul's GFC, The Railway Bar and The Stables.

Highlights include Set Dancing Night, Traditional/Folk and Bluegrass sessions and an Irish Dancing Exhibition.

Irish traditional fiddle trio, Fidil will launch the fleadh in The Railway Bar next Thursday.

Aidan O'Donnell, Ciaran O'Maonaigh, Damien McGeehan are three young lads rapidly forging a reputation for exhilarating and challenging music which draws on the rich heritage of their native Donegal.

Doors open at 8pm and tickets are available online on Tony Lavery Fleadh Facebook Page and also available in the Railway Bar.

Programme of events: The Railway Bar: Friday, Tullamore Trad Session from 9pm to late, Sunday, Ballina Trad Session at 3pm.

St Paul’s GFC: Friday, Set Dancing with Eamon Maguire from 8pm to 10pm, Listowel Folk Session from 10pm to late.

The Corner House: Friday, Bluegrass Session from 9pm to late, Traditional Session from 9pm to late.

Saturday, Irish Dancing Exhibition at 3pm, Cavan Trad Session at 3pm in bar, Letterkenny Trad Session from 9pm to late, Sunday, All Ireland Football Final Session at 5pm, Enniscorty Traditional Session from 9pm to late.
