Local beaches up for Countryfile award!

Could one of our North Coast beaches win a ‘Beach of the Year’ award?

We all know how wonderful our local beaches are, but now they have been recognised by a national magazine.

The beaches in Portrush have been shortlisted in the BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards 2014/15 in the ‘Beach of the Year’ category.

Our local attractions are the only beaches shortlisted in Northern Ireland.

Going head to head with streches in Cornwall, Yorkshire, Pembrokeshire and the Isle of Lewis, readers are asked to log on and vote for their favourite beach.

The Dark Hedges in Stranocum has also been shortlisted in the ‘Landmark of the Year’ category.

Simply log on to www.countryfile.com/awards and vote for your favourite in each category.

The winners will be crowned in the April issue of the magazine.
