Carrickfergus Grammar School will miss colleague’s ‘very special brand of care’

Carrickfergus Grammar School is preparing to say farewell to long-serving member of staff.

Sandra McMaster is retiring next week after two decades as pupil welfare officer at the North Road school.

In a statement, Carrickfergus Grammar School said: “Our best wishes for a long and very happy retirement go to Mrs Sandra McMaster, as we near her final day of work in the school on Wednesday 30th September.

“Sandra has been employed as a member of the school office staff and as our pupil welfare officer since 1999. In that time, she has tended to literally hundreds of young people who have made their way to reception to ‘see Sandra’ when feeling ill.

“Sandra’s very special brand of care, unique good humour, huge kindness and unending generosity will be sorely missed by the entire Carrickfergus Grammar School community.”
