1950’s movies celebrate Jubilee year

Movies from 1953, the year The Queen visited Ballymoney following her Coronation, will hit the big screen in Ballymoney Town Hall, as part of the Council’s 2012 inspired events programme.

On 31 May, an iconic movie in its time, the 1953 drama“From Here to Eternity”

Winner of eight Academy Awards including 1953 Best Picture.including for picture, best Director (Fred Zinnermann), Adapted screenplay, supporting Actor (Frank Sinatra) and supporting Actress (Donna Reid).

The 1953 classic musical Kiss Me Kate. A tangled twosome, So In Love despite her “I hate Men” flashpoints. It’s Too Darn Hot!! will be screened on 26th July.

Doors open 7.00 p.m. for the 7.30 p.m. screenings.
