Emma said: “Encouraging and enabling kids to cycle or walk on their journey to school is such a great way to promote an active lifestyle.

“I’m excited to be working with Gaelscoil an Chaistil; both pupils and staff are enthusiastic and excited about being part of the Active Travel programme.

“As children, parents and staff experience the benefits of active travel in a safe and fun way, we expect to see the number of children walking, cycling and scooting to school to increase through the year.”

The school’s principal Brídín Ní Dhonnghaile added, “ Gaelscoil an Chaistil are extremely excited to have Emma working with us. The children have already begun to discuss the different ways they can be actively travelling to and from school.”
