All aboard for Ulster Scots music tour

THE annual musical bus tour run as part of the Cairncastle Ulster Scots Bluegrass and Folk Festival takes place this year on July 26, with a changed itinerary.

Having exhausted practically all the Ulster Scots landmarks/historical sites on the Antrim Coast in recent years, the 2012 route features in Co Down.

The tour on a luxury coach starts at 9am, leaving Church Road, Larne, and on to Cairncastle to collect passengers.

It then makes its way to Belfast and on to Holywood, Bangor, Donaghadee (stopping for tea and scones, not included in the cover price) and onward to Newtownards for a shopping stop.

On return at Cairncastle, a three-course meal will be served.

The tour ends at Church Road, Larne, at approximately 6pm.

The cost is £15 per person, including the meal. The tour guide will be Dr Fraser Agnew, well known Ulster Scots historian.

Tickets are available on a first-come basis from Larne Tourist Information Centre (2826 0088).
