400 sign up to abattoir petition
A PETITION aimed at stopping the creation of an abattoir at Millbrook has gathered more than 400 signatures from concerned residents.
As reported in the Larne Times, planners have approved an application from Topping Meats to convert a processing plant at Old Belfast Road into a multi-species abattoir.
However, a number of determined residents have come out fighting against the plans in a bid to have the decision overturned. The protestors have even erected a sign at the Millbrook roundabout, voicing their objections to the facility and calling on the support of the local community.
