Aghanloo WI
The May meeting of Aghanloo WI was opened by President Elizabeth Scott and a very warm welcome was extended to visitors from other WIs in the local area.
After some business our speaker Paddy McNicholl from Peace and Reconciliation Kilcranny House in Coleraine was introduced. Paddy gave us a most interesting and informative talk about her work in Bolivia in the past and now of what her work entails in Coleraine among ethnic minorities. She explained how a quilt she had on show embraced the uniqueness of each of its contributors.
Rosemary Savage thanked Paddy and handed over a gift. A delicious supper was served before some of our own members entertained us in song by acting out a humorous sketch of a school classroom. This was enjoyed by all and the evening closed by singing A Country Woman’s Song followed by a vote of thanks from our visitors.
