Aileen McCann Support Group meeting

THE Aileen McCann Foundation, Cancer Support Group wish to invite young people and their parents who have been affected by cancer to a public meeting on Wednesday 2 June in Rasharkin Community Centre at 8pm.

Aaron Henderson - a local teenager from Rasharkin - has been awarded a grant from The Big Deal to hold a few events throughout the summer months.

The group welcomes young people who have personally had cancer, and also those with loved ones who have or are going through cancer.

Chairperson of The Aileen McCann Foundation, Odhrn Darragh, said: "When someone is diagnosed with cancer, it is not only them who feels the effects of it.

“We aim to deliver a program to help address some issues with the young people, but also to provide an escape.

“Aaron has received funding for the young people to go on cinema trips, Go Karting and also for a night residential.

“So aside from helping address the issue of cancer we hope to give the young people an opportunity to go on trips together.”
