Alliance fields ‘diverse’ range of candidates
The party is fielding a total of 10 candidates for the Mid and East Antrim Council from across a wide range of professional backgrounds, including the Royal Air Force, medicine, software engineering, telecoms, the Library Service, pharmacy and law.
A total of three candidates are being put forward in the Larne area.

Hide AdCouncillor Gerardine Mulvenna is standing in the Coast Road electoral area.
Cllr Mulvenna was born and brought up in Feystown, Glenarm and has lived in Ballygally for the past 25 years.
She is a former Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Larne, and has a proven track record of committed service to the local community.
Cllr Michael Lynch and Robert Logan will be running mates in the Larne Lough area.

Hide AdCllr Lynch is a retired pharmacist and former Deputy Mayor of Larne.
An enthusiastic supporter of the Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Cllr Lynch has received an MBE for his commitment to the organisation.
Mr Logan is a retired British Telecom Engineer and has resided in Whitehead for over 40 years.
He has served on the Carrickfergus District Policing Partnership and is a Whitehead Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator.

Hide AdMeanwhile, Larne man Danny Donnelly is standing in the Braid area.
Mr Donnelly, a former candidate for the Green Party in council and Assembly elections, is a staff nurse at the Ulster Hospital, and volunteers as a first-aid instructor, teaching vital skills in the community.
These candidates have received the unequivocal support of former Councillors, Sean Neeson and Stewart Dickson MLA, who jointly stated: “Local government is changing and this gives us a unique opportunity to achieve positive change; our Alliance Party candidates offer credible and professional representation and they have our full support.”
The Party’s Group Leader in Carrickfergus, Cllr Noel Williams, said: “The diversity of candidates is indicative of the Alliance Party’s commitment to Step Forward towards a Shared Future for everyone in Northern Ireland.
