ASDA Coleraine support Hospice

STAFF from ASDA Coleraine gathered last week to present a cheque for £2,000 to Northern Ireland Hospice.

The funds raised mark the beginning of a year long partnership with the local charity and were raised through a variety of events such as bag packs, selling reindeer food, holding raffles and placing collection buckets at the end of each till.

Speaking on behalf of the store, Charity Champion Sylvia Ridgill said, “We are delighted to be partnered with Northern Ireland Hospice this year and are looking forward to raising some much needed funds for this very deserving local charity. “We raised these funds over the Christmas period and our customers really got behind our fundraising efforts and dug deep. Community Colleague Sheila Palmer added, “We hope to be able to raise thousands more over the course of the year to support the work the Hospice does in this area and to help us do so we have some big fundraising plans so watch this space!

Northern Ireland Hospice is a local charity caring for over 3,000 adults, children and their families living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions all over Northern Ireland. Hospice care is available 24 hours per day, every day of the year and there is no charge for this.

Fundraiser Laura Thomson said of the partnership with ASDA, “We are delighted to have the support of ASDA Coleraine and are really looking forward to working together over the course of this year.

“It is fantastic to have raised such a magnificent amount at this early stage and it is testament to the generosity of the people living in this area. On behalf of everyone at NI Hospice thank you to all those involved for their support”
