Attorney General asks for new inquest

NORTH Antrim Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay has welcomed the news that the Attorney General has ordered that a fresh inquest be held into the death of Gerard Casey who was shot by the UVF in Rasharkin on the 4th April 1989.

Mr McKay said: “It will be very much welcomed by Gerard’s family and the entire community in Rasharkin that a fresh inquest is held into his murder. “Gerard's family are entitled to and deserve to know the truth behind his death and will welcome this decision by the Attorney General to hold a fresh inquest into his death.”
