Banbridge driver facing excess alcohol charge

A 33-year-old man has been charged with being in charge of a vehicle with excess alcohol in his breath.

The matter was before Banbridge Magistrates Court on Thursday.

The defendant is Mark McDowell of Limewood, Banbridge and the offence is alleged to have happened in Bridge Street car park in the town on July 4 this year.

The charge was put to the defendant and a police officer said he believed he could connect McDowell with the offence.

A solicitor representing the defendant said he had just received papers in the case.

The matter was adjourned until August 25.
