Blackhead path signage request

A request has been made to erect signage at Blackhead Path to tackle the issue of dog fouling, members of Carrickfergus Borough Council have been told.

The path was identified as one of the problem areas in the borough council area at Monday night’s meeting of the Environmental Services Committee, along with Love Lane and the Taylor’s Avenue areas in Carrick itself.

Councillors were informed that weekly patrols had been carried out at the path and the Diamond Jubilee Wood along with parks and sports pitches across the borough.

It was reported to members of the local authority that a total of 20 people were spoken to and advised regarding fouling and licensing issues.
