Bogus collectors operating in Macosquin
POLICE are reminding householders to always check and make sure that those seeking donations or making requests for clothes or other items to be left out for collection are bona fide, before deciding to make a contribution.
It follows a report that two men were calling at homes in the Farranseerer Park area of Macosquin on Wednesday January 20 requesting that clothing be left out for named charity.
On this occasion the collection was bogus and police are eager to hear from anyone who can help to identify the culprits. Anyone who becomes concerned by any unexpected caller to their door or of any request to donate property should where applicable refuse the caller access to their home, and should contact their local police for advice.
