Carnlough's Easter Rising memorial '˜may be removed'
The contentious structure on council-owned property was unveiled back in March.
Unionists had branded the memorial as “illegal” and “provocative”, stressing that those responsible for erecting it had done so without the approval of the local authority.

Hide AdMEA Council chief executive Anne Donaghy recently informed members that she would begin arrangements in relation to the removal of the memorial.
DUP Alderman Gregg McKeen said: “This memorial did not go through the proper channels and the council has to be seen to be taking action, or it could set a dangerous precedent.”
Sinn Fein Cllr James McKeown said he would be “disappointed and angry” if the structure were to be removed.
