Celebrations to mark Town Hall restoration
Located in the heart of the town, Dromore Town Hall will become the focal point for a host of activities and entertainment such as face painting, balloon modelling, arts and crafts workshops, magic shows, large garden games, and street entertainers. Well-known cartoon characters such as Peppa Pig and Buzz Lightyear will be dropping in for a visit and Rathfriland Silver Band will perform a medley of delightful sounds.
The two-storey Victorian building, which dates back to 1886, was closed in August 2011 so that work could start on fixing major structural defects and improving safety.

The clock tower, the building’s most noticeable feature, has been refurbished and the first floor renovated to accommodate the public library. Environmental works have also been undertaken in the surrounding area.
The renovation and conservation work carried out on this iconic building will ensure that current and future generations can continue to use and appreciate the importance of this important local landmark for many years to come.
