Charity abseil at the Fairhill Centre will aid Macmillan funds

WHAT better way to celebrate the start of the summer holidays than taking part in the first charity abseil at Fairhill Shopping Centre.

By taking part in this exciting event you will not only be having fun with your friends/family but you will also be raising money for people who need your support when they are ill.

The first ever Fairhill abseil is taking place on Saturday, June 19, between 10am and 4pm and is open to anyone between the ages of eight and 14 years.

This unit is a joint partnership between the Northern Health and Social Care Trust, the Department of Health and Social Services and Macmillan Cancer Support and will cost in excess of 5 million of which Macmillan is contributing 2.1 million.

It will provide comprehensive specialist palliative care and support to patients with life-limiting conditions and their families and will also deliver a range of inpatient and outpatient services including symptom control, rehabilitation and end-of-life care.

Macmillan receives NO government funding and is, therefore, relying solely on the generosity and support of the people of Ballymena and the surrounding areas.
