For this ‘Hear To Inform’ session, Action on Hearing Loss will partner up with the NI Fire and Rescue Service, PSNI and the Council Home Safety Officer who will talk about their services and how they can support people with hearing loss.

Lynda Gould, Outreach Development Officer with Action on Hearing Loss, says: “Many older people with hearing loss often find it difficult to communicate with friends and family; even everyday activities like shopping can add to feelings of being left out and isolated, and when it comes to matters of safety hearing loss can also be a real disadvantage.

An older person with hearing loss may not be able to hear smoke alarms, telephones and doorbells, and with a limited number of people to ask for help, the degree of vulnerability and level of risk rises. This event is an opportunity for the people of the Moyle area to get practical advice and support to help them stay safe and connected.”
