DUP MLA Carla Lockhart has met with King’s Park principal Mr Terry Shields, the Education Authority and local business owners in an effort to resolve access issues in and around the school.

For some time now there have been complaints about a bottleneck in the Queen’s Walk area leading to the school and the meeting was designed to ensure there is ongoing consultation and work to try and resolve this matter.

Ms Lockhart said, “I keep in close contact with the principal Mr Shields, the parents and the local businesses. A new school is in the pipeline and I am working hard to ensure this is delivered and that the access issues are resolved.

“I would strongly encourage parents to remain calm and abide by the road markings and also by the security in this vicinity. This is all done in the interest of children’s safety.”
