Conleth Kane has beaten off some stiff competition as he battles for the role of Nick in the hit production.

The Mayor, Meta Crozier congratulated the 26-year-old at Monday night's council meeting.

She said: "I would wish Conleth the very best and ask everyone to support him."

Councillor Kieran Corr said Conleth was doing the Lurgan 'proud'.

"I know Conleth and have worked with him and he has done fantastically well since his days with MADS.

"The Lurgan Mail has done a great job supporting him.

"Conleth is the only person in the competition from the north and I would hope others would aspire to follow in his footsteps."
