'Consider that your current tactics are damaging'

FROM:- Hugh Martin Boyle (via e-mail).

As a Catholic it seems bizarre to me that due to another day of trouble in, I had to drive home via Protestant areas in order to get home safely.

If these kids want to challenge the authority of the PSNI then there is nothing I can do to stop them but I would urge them to consider that their current tactics are damaging.

Due to the powers the police have because of the new(ish) anti-terror laws, which largely came out of the false-flag 7/7 terrorist attacks on London, kids like these are actually doing the police a favour, giving them reason to implement and justify such strict measures and, perhaps, even push for stricter measures.

With ever-increasing job losses and cuts in public spending, we are fast approaching the type of circumstances seen in the 80s where people had no choice but to take to the streets to protest.

With scenes like this (and I’m sure there will be many more days like this) these people are only encouraging the politicians to take away our right to take to the streets to protest peacefully.

There is already the ‘Public Assemblies Bill’ to worry about. Therefore, I would urge these rioters to consider whether they are fighting for freedom or oppression. Perhaps they should realise that they are an unknowing pawn in the march authoritarianism. Things don’t always have to get worse before they get better!
