Magherafelt Magistrates Court was told on Wednesday that on April 11 last year, police stopped a car on Ballyronan Road, Magherafelt, and spoke to the defendant.

A prosecuting lawyer said the defendant was unable to produce her driving documents and was issued with a 55/8 form.

He said it transpired she did not have a valid insurance policy, and failed to produce a driving licence.

The lawyer said the defendant was issued with a fixed penalty notice.

Continuing, he said on June 15 at approximately 12.45pm police were on patrol at Rainey Street, Magherafelt, when they carried out a check on a car which showed it had no insurance. He said they stopped the car and spoke to the defendant outside Meadowlane shopping centre, and she admitted it was her vehicle.

Scott appeared in court but was not professionally represented.

Deputy District Judge Dunlop imposed six penalty points on each of the no insurance charges. He told the defendant this meant she was disqualified from driving for six months, and warned her not to get behind the wheel of a car.
