Man waiting on bus from Europa Bus Centre to Cookstown arrested for drug related offences

Mid Ulster PSNI say a male waiting on a bus to Cookstown from Belfast has been arrested for drug related offences.

Police officers from the safe transport team were conducting foot patrols in Europa Bus Station in Belfast city centre on Monday evening when they stopped and spoke to the male and then carried out a search of him.

In a social media post, Mid Ulster police said: "Officers located a quantity of tablets along with a quantity of suspected herbal cannabis. The male was arrested for drug related offences and will now be investigated for those matters.”

Continuing the post reads: "He was also in breach of court bail conditions and will be brought in front of the next available court to account for his actions.

"Most importantly, a quantity of illegal drugs has been safely removed from distribution and have been prevented from travelling to neighbouring Policing districts."
