Newtownabbey church calls for end to disorder
Members of Abbots Cross Presbyterian Church have appealed for peace following riots across the region last week.
A number of cars were hijacked and set on fire as police officers were targeted during disturbances in the Cloughfern area on Saturday, April 3.

Appealing for calm, a spokesperson for the Doagh Road church said: “As members of Abbots Cross Presbyterian Church and people of this community, we call for peace on our streets.
“We recognise the feelings of anger and frustration in the loyalist/unionist community, but violence is never the answer. We love our community and our area. Let’s work to see it thrive, not destroyed.”
