Police probe Coleraine hate crime

Police in Coleraine are investigating a hate incident that took place in the Railway Place area of the town on Tuesday afternoon.

Sergeant Ali told The Times: “A man was verbally abused and threatened by another man. We are investigating the abuse as a racially motivated hate crime.

“We would like to speak with a specific individual in relation to the incident. He was walking with a husky dog in the area of the train station at around 6:15pm on Tuesday, September 8.

“The man is described as aged in his twenties and of medium build. He also had a silver bicycle with him at the time of the incident.

“Anyone with information is asked to call Coleraine police on the non-emergency number 101. You can also contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
