Crossed lines a cause for
confusion at Sugar Island

Phone line disturbances have caused disruption for local people in the Sugar Island area, according to SDLP Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Council candidate Maureen Litter.

Ms Litter said: “I was contacted by residents in the Sugar Island area early last week with reports that telephone lines on a number of streets were down and causing severe disruption. Upon investigating, BT agreed to send an engineer to fix the problem and telephone services were restored.

“Unfortunately it seems that while the lines were restored, they have been connected to the wrong homes. Residents have been receiving calls meant for their neighbours and others in their street. This has understandably created even more chaos and frustration for those affected.

“After liaising again with BT they agreed to send another engineer to resolve the issue. I would like to thank the residents who have shown considerable patience throughout this incident and would ask anyone continuing to experience difficulties to get in touch.”
