Easter Egg fun day at the Ballymena Base

BALLYMENA Base held an Easter Egg Hunt in The People’s Park to raise money for their project in the Borough.

The Base is a project for Adults with Learning disabilities through Compass Advocacy Network who are registered charity.

They provide support and opportunities to develop friendships, independence and socializing.

As well as getting involved with the community and using local facilities. Many local service providers from Ballymena attended the fund-raiser like the George Sloan Centre and Castle Tower School, to socialize and to have a great day out.

The fund-raiser was kindly sponsored by Cadburys and another charity called ‘Chocolate Memories’ an enterprise where adults with Autism make the chocolate and is part of Autism initiatives Northern Ireland kindly supplied raffle prizes.

Karen Bartlett base co-ordinator said: “This is a great opportunity for all our members and local adults with learning disabilities to socialize together and make new friends, as well as getting out into the community. Also it’s a fun day out and gets us working together.”
