Exbibition celebrating the life and photography of Seamus Loughrey

The event will run from next Friday, December 20 - Seamus’ birthday until January 24.

The selection of prints on show will depict a range of scenic locations across the North Coast tinged with the inimitable and magical quality of Seamus’ lens. They will be available mounted and framed to raise money for the charity.

Seamus worked for many years as a freelance photographer, covering numerous community and civic events, touching the lives of many with not least his warm humour and dry wit, hence the name of this exhibition, ‘Did I Give You the Impression I Was Finished’, a familiar phrase many will have heard Seamus utter when interrupted!

This exhibition is a fitting tribute to raise funds for charity, through the work of an inspirational and generous man that was dearly loved and described affectionately as “Uncle” amongst many of his friends and colleagues, because he always had a quiet, consoling piece of advice to offer or some kernel of wisdom.

Local artist, Gavin Young from Kilrea, has also produced a specially commissioned portrait of Seamus to auction on the night, and some other local businesses have contributed items to raffle. Anne Roberts from Marie Curie said: “I am delighted that Marie Curie Cancer Care has been chosen to benefit from the art exhibition being launched.”
