‘This will include looking at opportunities to promote local culture and heritage in a way that will involve the local villages and attract visitors to the area. The group are requesting a seeding grant to assist them with running expenses connected with start up, ie stationery, other supplies, telephone calls, etc as well as a half day tour of the area looking at local heritage sites.’

A Council report regarding funding for the cultural and historical tour said: ‘The project meets criteria B supporting single identity work which promotes understanding and education and increases the confidence of a community in its own culture, heritage and traditions. The project should increase the group’s capacity and desire to develop inter-community contact.’
