Funding for school refurbishment plans

Carrick’s Integrated education sector this week received a double boost.

Acorn Integrated Primary School and Ulidia Integrated College were among 50 schools informed their applications under the School Enhancement Programme (SEP) for capital investment have secured approval to proceed. The £106million initiative will ensure schools benefit from refurbishment or extension projects, each valued between £0.5million and £4million.

Clodagh Webb, principal of Acorn, said the school is delighted that the application to the School Enhancement Programme has passed the first stage.
