Girls set for Oklahoma
17-year-old Orla McCormack has been selected to play the lead character of Gertie Cummings in this summer’s production of Oklahoma at Theatre at The Mill in Newtownabbey from Friday, August 12 to Saturday, August 20.
Orla, who attends Friends School is currently working towards her Classical Singing Diploma with Ashley Fulton hopes to go on to complete her Musical Theatre Diploma in 2012.

Hide AdShe said: “Oklahoma is an amazing musical. I just couldn’t turn down the opportunity to play this role on such a big scale and in front of such big audience.
“I also think that working with some of the most renowned professionals in the industry will be such a great experience. Most of all I’m looking forward to a great summer full of fun and friendships.”
Orla is not the only Lurgan girl to be taking to the stage. Emma Lynas will also be staring in the smash hit musical and is very excited about taking part in such a popular musical. Emma (17) is studying for her diploma in acting at Belfast Metropolitan College having achieved Grade 7 in Acting at London College of Music she is currently studying for Grade 8.
