The glasses, which have a waving hand on each side, come in children’s and adult sizes and are just £2, with all the money donated straight to Comic Relief.

Store Director Judith Ball said, “We are encouraging all our customers to come in, buy a pair of our special glasses and take a waving selfie to share on social media.

“The hashtag is #giveusawave and the more shares we get the more opportunity we have to spread the word and raise vital funds for this very worthwhile campaign.”

Specsavers in Coleraine has joined Specsavers stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa.

The company has pledged to raise at least £250,000 for the charity.

Red Nose Day 2017 takes place on March 24.
