The front door of the house in Glenvarna Green was reported to have been forced open at around 9pm. The female resident fled from the rear of the property to summon assistance.
According to police, nothing is believed to have been taken from the property.
“Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area of Glenvarna Green is asked to contact detectives at Antrim on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
