Glengormley mission hall fire '˜deliberate'

Investigators are treating a blaze at a mission hall in Glengormley yesterday as deliberate.

A Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) received a call at 5:25am to a report of a fire at derelict premises at the Ballyduff Road area of Glengormley on Tuesday, October 11.

“One fire appliance and one foam tender from Glengormley Fire Station as well as one fire appliance from Whitla Fire Station and one aerial ladder appliance from Springfield Fire Station were deployed to an unused mission hall in the area. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using hosereel jets dealt with the fire.

“Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service finished at the scene at 8:48am and the fire is being treated as deliberate.”
