Hospital phase opens doors
Phase 3.2b of South Wing was formally handed over recently to the Western Health and Social Care Trust following completion by the developer of the facility, Farran's Healthcare.
The 14.1million scheme is the second phase of the South Wing development.

Hide AdIt is planned that patients will begin moving into the facilities on a phased basis commencing in April. The Phase 3.2b development was officially opened last May by Her Majesty the Queen. Alan Moore, Western Trust Director for Strategic Capital Planning and Development, said: "This is another step forward in the strategic development of the Altnagelvin site and is another exciting development for the Western Trust.
"This ongoing development reflects the Trust's commitment to providing the highest possible quality of service to the community of the West." The Phase 3.2b development incorporates ward accommodation for stroke services, the acute medical unit (AMU) and a coronary care unit and cardiology ward.
Funding has been made available from the Department of Health for the 14.1 project.
