Inquiry opens into Moyle C.diff deaths
A PUBLIC inquiry into the C.difficile superbug outbreak at several Northern Health Trust hospitals in 2007 and 2008 got under way this week.
The hearing at Antrim Civic Centre, which is being led by chairwoman Dame Deirdre Hine, will try to establish how many C.diff related deaths occurred in Northern Trust hospitals during the outbreak.
It will also examine the experiences of patients and others who were directly affected by the outbreak in the Moyle, Antrim Area, Whiteabbey, Braid Valley and Mid-Ulster hospitals between June 16, 2007 and August 31, 2008.
